Folldal Mines

Folldal Mines is a museum that includes exhibitions, signposted trails, a café and accommodation.

We recommend a trip down the mines – an exciting train ride through Stoll 1. The mining train takes you 600 metres into the mountains to Worm’s Hall.

barthstigen

A great walking trip from Grimsdalshytta. The trail is signposted from Grimsdalsvegen. Along the trail are information points that provide information about animals and nature in the national parks.

The trail is almost 3 kilometres long and is a great break from the bike seat.

Children´s hiking path

There is a great little hiking path adapted for children and young people from Grimsdalshytta. It is approximately one kilometre long and runs around the cabin.

The path has questions posted along it about nature and wildlife that are suitable for both children and adults. Answer forms are available at the reception at Grimsdalshytta.

Meseterhøe

Meseterhøe and Tverrbekkhøe are a great round trip from Grimsdalen. Feel free to add an extra day of rest during your trip where you can take a break from your bike and stretch your legs.

The trail runs along the signposted path from Grimsdalen, starting at Grimsdalshytta via Tverrlisetra.

Haverdalen

You pass the Haverdalsvegen junction when cycling from Grimsdalshytta in the direction of Dombås. Haverdalsseter, situated at the head of Haverdalen valley, is 17 kilometres from Grimsdalsvegen one way.

There’s quite a climb on the trip back, but the great hosts at Haverdalsseter and the amazing scenery make it all worth while!

2000-meters topper

The detour to Dørålen is a great starting point to tackle some of the 2000 metre high peaks in Rondane. Rondane has ten mountain peaks that are over 2000 metres in height, and you can reach at least three of them from Dørålen.
